Chess Events in London

Chess Events in LondonI would like to publish an ivitation to several chess events in London, which are going to be organised by Adam Raoof. If you are from London and/or its neighbourhood , think about attending these tournaments!

I thought you might be interested in chess events I am organising in London.

I am inviting blitz chess enthusiasts to play in a series of tournaments in London. Most of them are 6 rounds, FIDE rated swiss format tournaments, and will cost £10 to play. 7.30pm start, 10pm latest to finish. Come and try them!

If you want to take part you can put your name down at www.chessengland.com.

Prizes for the new Highgate Blitz on 30th August will be based on entries, but I expect the first prize to be £50 and a nice bottle of wine. Unusually you are encouraged to bring a smartphone or a tablet with you and follow the event online with immediate access to your round-by-round pairings and live updates of the crosstable!

Thanks to Sam and Mary for offering us the lovely Corks and Forks Cafe as a venue – the food and drink is great. We will be able to see the pairings and standings on a big screen too. The venue is very near to the tube / station at Tufnell Park / Gospel Oak.

If it’s a success I will be internationally rating this tournament in the future.

The regular Hendon ‘First Thursday’ Blitz takes place on 6th September, and because it is getting very popular, so PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE if you know that you are coming and you want to play. If you don’t register in advance I can’t guarantee a place. You can register here for all blitz events http://www.hendonchessclub.com/blitz/ or here http://global.tornelo.com/tournaments.

I hope to see you all there!
