After several months of no progress (and almost no training…) I decided to prepare a training schedule to do something with my chess. It is nice to play tournament games, but without a training no one can make progress, I think.
The schedule is based on my ability to devote time to this training. I realistically suppose I can train four times in a week and play one tournament game weekly. Plus I put into the schedule areas where I want to improve.
So here it is!
Day 1:
- tactics (3 to 4 diagrams, 5 minutes per diagram)
- openings
- replaying commented games from magazines or books. These games should be played in “my” openinng because I want to understand plans in the middlegame better
Day 2:
- tactics (3 to 4 diagrams, 5 minutes per diagram)
- endings
Day 3:
- tactics (3 to 4 diagrams, 5 minutes per diagram)
- preparation to my next tournament game
- endings
Day 4:
- tournament game
Day 5:
- tactics (3 to 4 diagrams, 5 minutes per diagram)
- analysis of my last tournament game
- replaying commented games from magazines or books. These games should be played in “my” openinng because I want to understand plans in the middlegame better
What books do I want to use?
Endings: Ludek Pachman – Chess Endings in Praxis (I do not know the exact English title of this book)
Tactics: Chess Training Pocket Book II by Lev Alburt. But it is possible to use http://www.chesstempo.com/ for example.
The only thing remains… STICK TO THE SCHEDULE :)

Looks like a realistic plan. Although I doubt you will have enough hours in day five since one may not udnerestimate the hours that you (have) put in on analysing your own game.
Good luck with it, hoping you will see a raise in rating.
You are right, it is very hard to analysis the game properly in that short time frame. So I changed the schedule for Day 5 a bit and the analysis is done as the first thing. If some time remains, then I do tactics and replaying games.
